Product Samples
The following examples represent typical SISCAL data products. By clicking on the thumbnails, the corresponding image products will be displayed.
SEC : Secchi depth
Satellite SEASTAR
Instrument SeaWiFS
Algorithm SEC-JC1
Description Secchi depth in the German Bight derived from SeaWiFS data taken on 3-Aug-2004. The artifacts in the southern parts of the image are caused by instrumental noise.
SST : Sea surface temperature
Satellite NOAA17
Instrument AVHRR
Algorithm SST-GG2
Description Sea surface temperature of the Northern Adriatic Sea derived from AVHRR onboard NOAA 17 taken on 30-May-2005. Apparently cooler temperatures close to the Italian coast are probably caused by unidentified thin clouds.
TAI : Top-of-atmosphere image
Satellite ENVISAT
Instrument MERIS RR
Algorithm TAI-BG1
Description Top-of-atmosphere image of the Southern Baltic Sea derived from MERIS data taken on 6-Aug-2004. Important algae blooms are observed between the Swedish islands of Oeland and Gotland as well as along the Polish coast.
TSM : Total suspended matter
Satellite SEASTAR
Instrument SeaWiFS
Algorithm TSM-FA3
Description Total suspended matter concentration in the Southern North Sea derived from SeaWiFS data taken on 17-Aug-2002. Very high concentrations are observed in the river Thames estuary.
CHL : Chlorophyll-a concentration
Satellite ENVISAT
Instrument MERIS RR
Algorithm CHL-EE1
Description Chlorophyll distribution in the Southern Baltic Sea derived from MERIS data taken on 6-Aug-2004. Important algae blooms are observed between the Swedish islands of Oeland and Gotland as well as along the Polish coast.
KDD : Diffuse attenuation coefficient at 490nm
Satellite SEASTAR
Instrument SeaWiFS
Algorithm KDD-DC1
Description Diffuse attenuation coefficient in the German Bight derived from SeaWiFS data taken on 3-Aug-2004. The artifacts in the southern parts of the image are caused by instrumental noise.
MAR : Marine reflectance at 550nm
Satellite SEASTAR
Instrument SeaWiFS
Algorithm MAR-XG1
Description Marine (subsurface) reflectance at 550 nm in the Southern North Sea derived from SeaWiFS data taken on 17-Aug-2002. High values indicate high concentrations of total suspended matter (TSM).
